The Uduogie Ivowi Education Foundation (TUIEF) is a non-profit organisation dedicated to advancing education in Nigeria, with emphasis on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education. For nearly three decades now, it has been initiating policies and programmes that promote educational development including, without limitation, excellence in academic research and curriculum development across all areas of education, and supporting the education of underprivileged, physically challenged, and neglected children. The foundation organises various educational events such as workshops, seminars, and conferences on issues of national interest. Annually, the foundation holds a Distinguished Public Lecture on the birthday of the Life Patron, Professor Uduogie M. O. Ivowi, aimed at bringing together practitioners and professionals in the education sector. This year’s event will hold on 9th December. Professor Ivowi is a trustee and past president of STAN.
The foundation has recently floated a magazine, the Ivowi Education Magazine. The maiden edition will be published before this year’s public lecture. Kindly accept this as an invitation for articles in the magazine. Contributions for publication in form of essays, scientific notes, innovations, teaching strategies, trending news and events in STEM, poems, opinions / views, and education generally are being solicited. International Journal of Education (IJOE) is a periodical committed to serving as an invaluable resource to an international audience of teachers, counsellors, supervisors, administrators, curriculum planners, and educational researchers. It is determined to contribute to the advancement of educational practice at all levels. The journal is a biannual publication that publishes, without limitation, manuscripts that describe and /or synthesise research of direct relevance to educational practice. All articles must undergo anonymous double-anonymised review.
Manuscript Preparation and Submission
Either British or American English can be used, but be consistent within the article. For American spelling, please consult Merriam – Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary; for British spelling, use Collins English Dictionary. Finished manuscripts should be about5,000 words including references. Use a single main font (Times New Roman, point 12) for the entire text. The APA Style is recommended. Please refer to Publications Manual of the American Psychological Association, 7th edition, for the appropriate way to format intext citations and the reference list. Foot notes, appendices, scanned graphics, tables, figures, etc. are not acceptable. Photos should be saved as TIFF with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi. Quotes of more than 40 words are treated as blocks (i.e., single-spaced and set in from the left margin by ½ inch). Abstracts should be up to 200 words long and provide a succinct summary of he article. Citations should not be used in the abstract. Abbreviations, if needed, should be spelled out. Authors should supply up to six relevant keywords that describe the subject of their article. Keywords should comprise of phrases of 2 or 3 words rather than single words. Please include your name(s) (spelled out as they would be cited), affiliations, email addresses and telephone numbers after the article title. For joint authorship, the first-named author should be the corresponding author. Technical terms and abbreviations should be defined the first time they appear in the article. Manuscripts should be submitted as MS Word file to the Editor at ndirika.maryann@mouau.edu.ng An assessment fee of N15,000 ($20) is payable upon paper submission.
