The Uduogie Ivowi Education Foundation

The Uduogie Ivowi Education Foundation (TUIEF) was created at the request of the Lagos State Branch of the Science Teachers Association of Nigeria (STAN) on July 29, 1997. 

During the inauguration of its Board of Trustees on December 8, 1998, Dr. A.O. Ogunleye, chairman of the Lagos State Branch of STAN, emphasized that the Foundation was established as a gesture of goodwill from science teachers to honor Professor UMO Ivowi, a former chairman of the branch and past president of STAN at the national level. He noted that this Foundation was distinctive as it marked the first instance of a science teachers' association creating a foundation for a living, deserving teacher or administrator.
